The Mi-1 Hare entered series production in 1951. The Mi-1 remained in production until 1964.
Poland built a version designated SM-1. The three-blade main rotor is mounted on a high hump
on top of the fuselage midsection. The single radial piston engine is mounted beneath a hump
on top of cabin. The fuselage, which is tadpole-shaped when viewed from bottom, features a
rounded nose and rear sections with a stepped, glassed-in cockpit and a long, thin, tapered
tail boom. The tail consists of a swept-back fin with a rotor on the right top. Small flats
