Canadair
CL-84
Dynavert

Back

Although the Canadair Dynavert was originally a private venture designed to meet a NATO specification, financing for the initial design was eventually augmented by the Canadian Defense Research Board and the Department of Defense Production. Three were delivered to the CAF as evaluation aircraft to determine the operational potential of such a V/STOL type in various military roles. Wing angle of incidence could be rotated through 100 degrees with only a 12 second delay between hover and normal flight at 115 mph. A derivative of the CL-84 concept has been developed by the US Marine Corps - the MV-22 Osprey.
