The MD 600N is up to 50 percent quieter than competitive aircraft. The noise outside each
respective contour shown is less than 65 dBA, about the same as a busy residential environment. The 600N also fills a multitude of roles: Aerial Tour, Corporate, ENG, AMS, Utility, and Law Enforcement. MD's 600 series also features a six-bladed main rotor, and their patented NOTAR® anti-torque system. The NOTAR® system provides a distinct advantage in noise-sensitive areas, is less vulnerable to ballistic damage, and eliminates tail rotor strikes at the same time as it protects ground personnel by yielding one less moving part. The 600N is the fastest helicopter in its class, and also has amazing double, center-opening doors that open to a full 62 in. The aft cabin actually has 6 ft of flat floor space. The crashworthy A-frame design acts as an integral seat structure, and the double-wall keel beam provides good nergy absorption in case of a hard landing.
